Yes, I am having a Fat Day. The kind of day where you feel like nothing you ever to is going to make you fit like you want to be, like all your efforts are futile, like your clothes will never fit the way they did when you bought them.
It doesn't help that I teach until 9 tonight and won't have time for any more exercise today. I managed 42 minutes of walking but that's not exactly going to melt off the inches.
No sweets, no alcohol, it's fruit and veggies and protein (and Udo's Oil) from here on in. I need a cleanse, or something.

I'm trying not to become a posting slut on this community, but writing down my activities somewhere - anywhere, though this place seems most fitting - really helps me keep track of things.
I've finally added running to my regimen instead of just talking about adding running to my regimen. I'm going for two days a week to start. My neighbourhood is a really great place to run because there are lots of nearby trails and hilly areas that are fun and challenging. I ran about 4k on Friday, and 5k today. It was excellent.
This week I'll bike to work four times. One run is taken care of already, so I'll run one more time. I'll do weights three times.
And since it's finally golfing season, I'm off to the driving range in an hour.

I feel like an absolute blob today. I'm in a puddle of fatigue, and my chest hurt so much on my bike ride to work today (which is the easy half of the ride) that I'm a little worried about getting home. I definitely should have taken the scooter today.
I haven't lost a pound. Ugh.

Last week, my clerk dropped an article on my desk called "Habits for Successful Fat Loss"
And considering my weight loss and fitness goals are not something I typically share with the office staff, I was pretty insulted by this.
But yesterday for the first time in months, I felt like my clothes were fitting. What a great feeling! I don't know if I've lost any weight, but just the feeling of being in better shape made me all giddy.
Last week's goals weren't all met but I did do some activities that weren't on the list so it balances out.
1 x snowboarding
1 x hike on cross country trails
3 x workout at the gym
3 x bike to work
1 x one hour walk
2 x 20 minute run
I dunno, is that a lot?

I figure it's time to get serious about this "getting healthy" business... I tend to put it off when I have a lot of work on my plate, but, since I'm currently in between floods of work, now would seem to be the time to develop some better habits.
goals this week ...
-- eat three meals a day ... I have a bad habit of eating only one or two which I know seriously screws with my metabolism
-- aquafit x 3 ... minimum of 30 minutes in the water each time
current weight: 90lbs
target weight: 77lbs
reward when target weight is achieved... get this jacket

it's not raining anymore. there is absolutely no reason why i shouldn't be out running. but i'm sitting in front of the computer eating cheese and it's just barely lunchtime.

It's not evident from the outside (I'm still wearing my innertube), but mentally, that feels pretty good.

I like the gym. today there were only 3 or 4 other people there, all doing different things, so I had the weight machines all to myself.
the only sad thing if I get a new job downtown will be that I'll have to give up this membership and find a new gym.
ah well, that would be okay.

this week i did a lunchtime run (30 minutes, 4k) and climb x 1.
yay! i haven't run in about half a year.
next week's goals:
- climb x 2 (at least)
- run x 1
- bike to work x sunny days
goals for march:
- be able to climb 5.9 again
- be able to run 10k comfortably at my regular time: 1:10
end of year:
- be able to climb 5.10- again
- be able to run 10k under 1 hour
- half marathon and 5.10+? :)

I had my last personal training session today. It was good, I learned many ball exercises. but, as it turns out, I don't get a circuit/program made up for me, that would be an additional session. sigh.
Anyway, I have a big list of the exercises we went through, and her recommendations on reps/weights, so for now I'll make up my own little circuit, see how it goes, and maybe ask for more personal training for my birthday.

not bad at all. I had intended to do 2x cardio, 1x personal training, but it switched, and that's okay.
I have my last personal training session next week. I like it, though I am slightly annoyed. the personal training they offer as a freebie is basically an intro to their gym, with the end result being that you get some focus on what you want to do at the gym. however I won't get my gym routine thingy until my last session. If i had had a choice in that matter, I would have spread out the personal training to like once every 2 weeks or something. oh well. it's still good to have someone standing in front of you telling you how to properly do an exercise, and to try harder.

despite still being phlegmmy, me and andrew went bouldering for an hour yesterday! it was nice to use my muscles which are probably atrophied by now.
i scared a few people at the gym with my coughing, but i took secret pride in the fact that i am actually becoming a dragon.
i forgot to add that i will be snowboarding next weekend again.
